Specialized in musical neuropsychology, Ester Pineda deepens the impact of musical practice on brain activity. This tripartite work highlights the role of the body in learning music thanks to discoveries made by cognitive sciences. The author succeeds in establishing a “correlation between body awareness and the game itself”, and leads to a redefinition of the relationship to the musical work, transmission (cf. descriptive diagram of musical transmission, p. 116) and teaching. One more step towards an informed introspection of the “musical body”.
